The Role of Access Groups
There are Access Groups in many towns and cities throughout the UK

Our prime function is to ensure that both the legal and moral responsibilities of providing access for people with disabilities to any facility are met. This includes shopping, recreation, medical and business premises.

Adequate parking facilities, dropped or flush kerbs and safe crossings are among the highway requirements that we monitor.

We work with the planning and highways departments of local and county councils, business owners, architects, and many others to achieve this.

The compiling and publishing of Access Guides to the towns and villages in the area has  always been important aspect of our work but this has been replaced by the online DisabledGo service
